Deadpool : Movie Review
I, like millions of others, had been waiting for this movie for such a long long time. And since the announcement, the teasers and trailers have kept many fans waiting anxiously. And the movie does not disappoint at all.
This movie is in a way an origin story and an introduction to Marvel's funniest anti hero. Wade Wilson(Ryan Reynolds, who's first appearance had the women in the theatre hooting away) is a do good mercenary for hire doing the odd jobs to help people out but he is no hero. He meets this crazy, borderline Nymphomanic woman named Vanessa (the ever sensual Morena Baccarin), and over the course of their sexual and fun escapades, they fall madly in love. Classic valentine weekend movie release, right? No. This is when things go all cock up for Wade as he gets diagnosed with late stages of cancer in very important parts of his body. Having given up on the better life that he had dreamed with Vanessa, a suit shows up promising a cure. With no options, Wade agrees and over the events that follow, Deadpool is born. He is near immortal but his mutation has left him permanently scarred, and he is after the man responsible, Ajax(the drool-worthy Ed Skrein as the Brit villain). The rest of the plot and the characters therein are for you all to explore and enjoy.
The movie is packed with explosive action scenes and foul language, but never feels overdone. All the Deadpool gags, especially the fourth wall breaks, never seem forced and always in sync with the comic character's reputation. Even though it got an A rating, the indian censor board did ruin a bit of the foul mouthed humor but YouTube can help you out there. And no role is too small, as proved by T.J. Miller as Deadpool's best friend and the seemingly harmless cabbie, Dopinder. It is a fun watch and definitely a good break from the slew of typical superhero movies that have been entertaining us for the last few years now. Deadpool is definitely worth a watch and I like it so much, I'm gonna get a copy for home once its out so I can enjoy and laugh my ass off again and again. Maximum Effort!
Spoiler alert, stay till the end of the credits, worth it.
