Mechanic Resurrection : Movie Review

The trailer here pretty much shows all the decent bits of what is otherwise a 100 minute reel that will make you grimace and hold your head in your hands. The only thing you might enjoy is Jason's jawline and jaw dropping physique, and the plentiful you get of Jessica Alba's cleavage and bikini bod.

Jason Statham's return as Arthur Bishop has been a major let down. There is no plot, no story, just a series of close ups, lazily-written rip-off cliches and some mindless explosions. Even the special effects for this film seemed to be on a budget, probably because they spent whatever money they had on Bishop's poorly choreographed stunt scenes. To the followers of Statham's work, you can almost tell which move was from which of his previous hit films.

They have ruined Arthur's character from the first installment of the remake (which wasn't that good either but still much better than this one), with Jason doing his best to try and bring some depth to it. Jessica on the other hand seems to play the role of the sexy blonde romantic interest, Gina, to a T without adding an iota of believable personality with her acting skills.

Another big name of the cast is Tommy Lee Jones, the only man in the whole film who acted and gave his character, Max Adams, some life, at least something that wasn't painful to watch and was genuinely entertaining.

The film style too was too immature for such a sequel and just contributed to the series of mindless sequences. If I were to say any more on the film, it would be more of a rant and less of a review. To tie it up, I'd rate this movie 2 out of 8 cookies, and those 2 are just for Jason and Jessica's juicy shots.

I hope you guys liked my review of the movie. As always, thanks for reading and feel free to share, comment and subscribe. Stay tuned for more from the Loon!
